ARTIST STATEMENT, STRATEGY, AND PROCESS Freedom as a Purpose Embarking on a transformative journey, I, an emerging artist and former digital transformation leader, redefine my narrative as a full-time freedom artist, researcher, and activist. Rooted in the profound experiences of digital leadership, I carry forward the torch of innovation, casting its glow upon the canvas of social change. Guided by the mantra of Freedom, Peace, and Justice, inspired by the 21st-century black revolution of the glorious people of Kemet, my rebranding symbolises a commitment to these timeless ideals. From the echoes of the past, I draw inspiration to infuse my art with purpose, encapsulating the spirit of a movement that sought to break chains and build bridges towards a harmonious coexistence. In the dance between my past role as a digital transformation leader and my emergence as an artist, I leverage the tools of technology and the palette of empathy. My art is not only an expression of creativity but a strategic exploration, utilizing a sophisticated empathy-based design toolkit as my guide through the labyrinth of societal complexities. Strategy, Productions, Process The focal point of this transformation is the production of six to ten social activism art projects, each a testament to my commitment to effecting change. Within this framework, each project comprises: 1. [1/1] Tokenised Digital Photomontage with Tokenised and Signed Print: A unique digital photomontage, tokenised for authenticity and accompanied by a signed physical print, encapsulating the essence of the project's theme. 2. [1/1] and/or [LEs/OEs]Glitch Digital Artworks: Glitch digital artworks, providing a nuanced exploration of the project's narrative with a touch of digital distortion. 3. Medium-Length Blog Tokenised with Simple Artwork: An insightful medium-length blog, tokenised for authenticity, exploring the research, inspiration, and thought process behind the art project. Accompanied by simple yet poignant artwork. 4. Short Video Montage with Unique Visual Style and Voice Overs Performed by Me: A visually striking short video montage, incorporating a unique visual style. Voiceovers, performed by me, lend a personal touch, providing a deeper connection to the narrative. 5. Community-Centered Design Workshops Artwork - Shared Revenues: An innovative project inspired by a series of community-centered design workshops, drawing on my experience as a principal designer and facilitator. The resulting artwork's revenues are shared with the workshop attendees, fostering collaboration and ensuring the community plays an active role in the project's success. Collective Healing As I navigate this dynamic space, my art becomes a mirror to the soul of a collective consciousness, fostering dialogue, healing, and understanding. The 21st-century black revolution serves as a testament to resilience, and in embracing this legacy, I strive to amplify voices that demand change, challenge perceptions, and contribute to a global discourse on freedom and justice. This rebranding is not just a shift in identity but a deliberate alignment with a higher purpose – a purpose that transcends the individual and envisions a world where art is a catalyst for transformation. Through my work, I aspire to contribute to a tapestry of global understanding, weaving threads of freedom, peace, and justice into the fabric of our shared humanity.
