Ria 'Air' Garcia

Ria ‘Air’ Garcia is an internationally published cartoonist and graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies (cartoonstudies.org). Her work has been featured alongside such comics luminaries as Art Spiegelman, Lynda Barry and Alison Bechdel. Ria has guest-lectured at both Duke University and UNC, and in 2018 she collaborated with Austrian arts collective OMAi to animate/showcase her work at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Consistently producing experimental comics for over a decade she has been referred to as “the trippiest of the CCS cartoonists” by comics critic Rob Clough. Ria is very excited to be here.
