Amelia Earhart (July 24, 1897- Declared Dead January 5, 1939)
-Was the first female passenger to cross the Atlantic in 1928 and was the first female to pilot a
transatlantic flight in 1932.
-Attempted to be the first pilot to fly around the world in 1937, but disappeared and later declared dead.
-Was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 1968.
-Believed in equality between men and women.
