in which we are born. Carl Gustav Jung There are three basic ingredients to any astrological chart: Planets, Signs and Houses Planets are psychological drives, urges and motivations. Think of them as verbs(depicts an action that is going on) eg: Mars asserts, Venus Harmonises, Jupiter expands, Saturn Restricts. Signs are the twelve qualities of being or attitudes towards life(archetypes?). Drive of a planet is expressed through the sign in which the planet is placed. Eg: Mars can assert in Arian/Taurean way. Venus can harmonise in Geminian/Cancerian way. Houses show specific areas of everyday life or fields of experience it is occurring. Eg: Mars in Taurus asserts in slow/steady but its placement by house shows which AREA this action can be observed.
