James Cameron - Canadian film director, best known for creating sci-fi and epic films. Cameron first achieved recognition for directing the film "Terminator" (1984). Then the director gained critical and commercial success thanks to the films "Strangers" (1986), "Abyss" (1989), "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991) and "True Lies" (1994). His biggest-budget films are "Titanic" (1997) and "Avatar" (2009), and the first was awarded an Oscar in the categories "Best Film", "Best Director" and "Best Editing".
One of the founders of the production companies Lightstorm Entertainment, Digital Domain and Earthship Productions. He is a researcher at the National Geographic Society, an environmentalist and oversees several sustainable enterprises. "Avatar" and "Titanic" are the first and third highest-grossing films of all time, which earned 2.8 and 2.19 billion dollars, respectively. In 2010, Time magazine recognized Cameron as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
