When his ship was the last to be overtaken, Sulca latched a cannonball to his leg, climbed onto the railing of The Disgrace, cut his own throat, and tossed himself overboard... his body never to be recovered. His reign of terror did not end there, however. Ssuros, the Tide Serpent and one of the Sea Gods, had so developed such a profound respect for Sulca that the god snatched his soul before it could be devoured by Kull, the God of Bones and lord of the Underworld. Ssuros breathed new life into the pirate lord's blackened soul and set him once again about the seas, to terrorize as he saw fit.
