At one stage of Orlando's story, the protagonist tries to suppress his deep need for poetry, having been hurt by the criticism he has received. For me, at this moment the most beautiful description of Orlando is created for what he sees in front of him. The grass is green and the sky is blue, an image so clear and common, yet Virginia Woolf manages to describe it through references to mythology, religion, violence and grace. My work is dedicated to a woman whose nature and distinctions of her time made her one of the best writers and able to refer and resist stereotypes through outstanding literature.
