A tornado uproots young Dorothy’s Kansas home and lands her in the middle of a 1920’s gangster turf war in the land of Oz. The Leader of The Munchkin Gang enlists novice witch-killer Dorothy of Kansas to finish off Notorious Crime Boss - the Wicked Witch of the West. The deal is simple: rid Oz of its final rival crime boss, and the Big Wiz in the City of Emeralds will help her return home. Fail, and she must live in Oz forever, never to see her beloved Kansas again. The Bounty of Oz is a 1920s gangster adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I wrote and illustrated this 4 page comic story under the mentorship of Carl Potts in his Graphic Novel/Comic Book 1 class at The Academy of Art University. Panels of the sequential art from these pages are included in this collection. This project was made using traditional comic book methods, with ink and bristol vellum, and was digitally colored.
